TED

a resource in Leadership | Useful Stuff

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is an annual conference that brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes.

There’s a great archive of the talks on the site from a wide variety of people, including Billy Graham! You can download many of the talks (as mp4 movie files).

As well as Billy Graham (mentioned in the post and with a great summary on the TED site), I think it’s interesting to see how the ‘leaders of the world’ are communicating and what lessons the Church could learn on effective and innovative communication techniques.

By that I don’t mean ’style over substance’. Jesus was a wonderful communicator and used stories and other techniques to get His wonderful message across. Perhaps we can re-think how we can do it!
